Part 04

Kidnapping? How they did it was both astounding and difficult to visualize. I mean there were so many people out there in the hotel. They must have drugged him, he felt a dangerously painful headache in his forehead. He struggled to get up, still damp from yesterday’s rain. Somehow he would have to make it in time to the hotel with no money and no phone.
By 10 O’clock in the morning Anjali Orwenich knew her friend; Joachim was missing. She had called his mobile phone twice before heading out to his room to check on him, but his absence becomes uncanny. When the room was opened by one of the hoteliers and a cleaner they discovered that the bed had hardly been slept in and that the room had looked like it had been hurriedly cleaned up as if  there was not a sign of him; that he spent the night in the room.

She called at the hotel security to inquire if they could see how and where he went, on the hotel security cams. The cameras showed that he had gone to the lobby at about one A.M. at night. and then after a while, about 45 minutes later, he went to the smokers’ room where there were a good number of other smokers. She wasn’t told this though. She decided not to call in the Police, as he had only been missing for a night. Subsequently, she too, stepped out for the day.
